Success does come

We did my measurements yesterday morning....over all, I increased a little in most areas, but lost 2 pounds since last week! I am satisfied with that....I am building muscle and it is showing. (Or maybe my hubby was screwing with me last week, and my measurements are actually the same) Last night I did my 5K training. On unofficial time (a nice model of a cheap kitchen timer), I completed the 5K in 40 min 38 sec. I still have a week and half before I do the official time with the Diabetes 5K. I am finally settling into the school...

I wanna SNOOPY DANCE!!

Snoopy Dance I took my first test in my class and I passed it with a 90%.....very awesome since I have to pass the class with a 80% an cummilative grade. YES!!!!

What a difference the weather makes

Autumn has definitely fallen in the Western Washington. The rain clouds moved in over night allowing for low fog, wet roads, and extreme mugginess. I had a hard time finishing 1/2 mile stretch of my 5K training. But man, was I sweating up a storm. Not sure if things have equaled out that way...less running but more sweat. Hmmm..... I definitely need to replace some more clothes. My sweat pants that I wear on colder days are now too baggy and seem to hinder my running more than keep me warm. Here goes another challenge to my comfort box. I...

Wow...how time flies

I have been busy raising money for my Diabetes 5K in two weeks. I have done a class, mobbing people for their wallets, trying to be polite with my brick, and now I am arranging a "Bingo for Diabetes" night. That required some hunting at the 2nd hand shops for bingo kits and such. I finally availed in finding two sets that were fairly complete. So I am now hosting a Bingo night at my place next Saturday......Have I hit the "old bitty" stage in my life, where the most exciting thing I have to look forward to is Bingo...

I am so getting into my game

I am training for my Step-Out Diabetes 5K on October 9th. I have set a goal of less than 38 minutes (some friendly competition involved). When I first started my timing, I was at 46 min 30 sec. YESTERDAY, I finished in 41 min 52 sec. And, I still have 3 more weeks to go before the official time....... I had a great fundraiser this weekend. Although it didn't bring me to my goal, it sure helped a lot.  If anyone is interested in donating and supporting my participation, please just let me know. Happy Monday!!

You know you are getting skinny when...

1) You have to scoot the seat up in your car (because your butt is disappearing and you sit further back into the seat). 2) You don't feel like a sardine in a public stall 3) Your running shoes are getting floppy 4) Your jacket doesn't keep you warm when zipped (too baggy now) 5) You have to change out the pads in your motorcycle helmet to make it snug again 6) Your motorcycle get up to 60mph in 3 blocks, not 6 7) You and your hubby can shower together and not have to suck in so hard to switch for the shower head 8) In...

Dr. Oz and Zappos Braclet: FREE

I am not sure how I came to find this information out (which is not a first for me, as that is how I found WLB), but you can go to Dr. Oz's website and get a FREE bracelet that says "10 Pounds". It is a reminder for you that you just need to loose ten pounds. Of course, when you lost ten pounds, you can concentrate on the next 10 pounds. The website takes some wiggling around to get the FREE bracelet, but looks to be totally worth it. I ordered mine this morning, and didn't have to pay...

Fat Clothes

Last night I decided to clean out my closet. It was time to get rid of the "fat clothes" and replace them with the clothes that fit or just barely fit (ie. the skinny jeans).  I could not believe how hard it was to do that. And to compare the jeans that now fall off of me when I sneeze versus the tiny clothes that I put into my closet.  This is definitely unventured waters....I look at the skinny jeans and think about how I have never been this size before. It was really scary, and I don't know why....

Time for some readjustments

I really need to readjust some things. I thought I did so much better than the numbers show. I lost 1 pound, which I am only moderately satisfied with. Measurements didn't move much either. So, I am going to look over my last week and see what needs improvement. I think water will be a big factor for last week! Oh, and ice cream was a big issue over the weekend. Now that school has started, I will need to cement my routine and stick to it!! I found a local support group, and went to there meeting.....man, that was disappointing!...

How did 4 daya go by so quickly?

I have been greatly distracted with lots going on, and certainly didn't expect to lose track of four days....WOW! The school year has started and it is really easing in well. I am not having the same "food issues" this year. I attribute that mostly because I am not there all day long and not responsible for disposing of it. It is easier to let someone else take care of that. And kinder to my hips. Also, my tax class started last Thursday....man, I forgot how much homework there is in college level classes. LOL....but I will be okay...less time for boredom...

Today is the day...

Today is gonna be packed.... School starts today. WhooHoo!! Finally. We are the last district in our area to finally start. Over the summer, I got a permenant job in the lunch room, instead of being a sub. It is good all the way around. I am only in the lunchroom for 2.25 hours a day, so the temptations are much less, versus being there all day and dealing with breakfast too. Also, I get medical benefits now, and I am not sure about the whole Union thing yet. This is my first job having a Union.  Wish me luck....I am...

Need to get back on track!

After a tough emotional week, I need to find my track again and get back on it. I apologize for being neglectful here and to all of my wonderful buddies, but I hope you understand. Doing all of my measurements this morning, I have mixed reviews....my weight went up 6 pounds over the last 2 weeks, but several of my measurements went down or stayed the same. I only had one measurement that increased (my neck). I tried to stay moving last week, but admittedly, I found that hard to do. Even yesterday was hard to find motivation. The quick...

I don't speak Kitty-ese

Sprout is starting to notice that her brother isn't here. So, please, keep her in your prayers, since I can't explain to her what has happened.......I am just trying to comfort her as much as possible. I allowed myself of an (un)forgiving lunch yesterday. I ate way out of my calories in just the sandwich, and then I added Chili (gooey) Cheese Fries with Sour Cream to it......It felt like 13 thousand calories, but was about 1500 total. I had a salad last night with fat free dressing. But today I am back on track. With the stress of losing Casper,...
