The Challenge! (Part II)

Part I didn't go so well :(.

In January, my friend, I'll call her B, and I decided to embark upon a new weight loss journey. Instead of sitting on the couch and watching re-runs of the Biggest Loser, we decided to start our own Biggest Loser challenge.

The stakes were high, the competition was fierce.

The winner would get a new workout outfit, with a value of $50, or, if they wanted, just $50 cash.

More importantly to me was not the cash, but beating B. The rules were simple: Whoever lost the most weight by March 7 (exactly three months from when we began) would be the winner; we would weigh in every other week, and try to go to the gym together as much as possible (B and I joined Gold's together at the start of the challenge).

For three weeks, we did great! We were going to the gym almost every day, and even though the scale didn't say so, I know I felt like I was making a difference. And then, somewhere after that three-week mark, the challenged seemed to slip through the cracks for both of us, probably because we started going out to eat together a lot (B has a serious addiction to nachos). By March 7, the challenge turned more into whoever lost the most weight gets a prize....the prize being the buttons that fell off our pants because they didn't fit us anymore.

But enough of the past, on with the future. We are kicking off the challenge into high gear again starting TODAY! And I am so excited. The rules have changed a little, and are based of the Style Network's tv show Fat-Free Fiances (funny how all our challenges are based on tv...I guess sitting on the couch all this time DID do me some good). It is based on a 12-week program, and here are the logistics:

First 2 weeks-mini goal=5 lbs. each
4 week mark-12 lb. total each
6 week makr-additional 6 lbs.
8 week mark-total 20 lbs. from the beginning (so, 6 more from the 6 week mark)
12 week mark-10 pounds from the 8 week mark-can be split between the two of us, doesn't matter if one loses 6 and the other loses 4.

So that is the plan. Here goes nothing! Wish us luck!
