Taking it One Step Further

Parking lots. I wish everything was purchaseable through a drive-thru so that I never had to get out of my car.

Unfortunately, that is an impossibility-at least for now.

I don't know about you, but I am the kind of person who NEEDS to park in the closest spot. I hate hate hate the concept of having to park my car, walk to the store, walk to the item I need, walk to the checkout counter, walk back to my car and eventually, walk from my car to the front door. Walk walk walk walk.

This is very lazy of me, I know, but why park half a mile away when there are 10 spots closer to the door?

I'll tell you why. This lazy mentality of mine not only causes numerous fights between my fiance and I whenever we go to the store, but it spills over into other things I do. I take the elevator when I can take the stairs, I eat fast food instead of making my own food and I drive to places I can walk.

By changing the one tiny little thing you do when you park in a parking lot, you're re-setting your mind to think about other ways you can choose a healthier option in your life. They call this being "health conscious," something I'm obvious not yet.

But, in an effort to avoid future fights and to force myself to stop being so lazy, I pledge to park at least 20 spots from the store from here on out. That is, unless there is one only 19 spots away ;).

Love your Buddy

I like to think of this post as not bragging about ourselves, but acknowledging our great qualities and the good things we do for people.

I know a few of you have written posts about how you're having some trouble with the site and the message boards, but I want to assure you that if you have taken all the measures on your end, i.e., cleaned your browser of cookies, etc., then our end is constantly working to ensure that you have the best experience whenever you log on to our site.

Now let's talk about the good things Weight Loss Buddy does on a daily basis.

I know that before joining buddy, I had a tendency to think I was alone in my battle with weight loss. I mean, sure, I knew I was not alone, but when you're struggling with your weight, it might feel that way sometimes. Simply knowing there are others out there who have either the same or similar troubles as I do. So that's one thing buddy did for me.

Another thing it did was bring me information. I continue to learn things from our experts and especially from your own blog posts. Buddy has now begun reaching out to those who might not know about on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter and I encourage all of you to check us out and add us to your own pages.

But here's what I want to know: what has buddy done for you? What would you say to someone who is not yet on buddy to encourage them to join?
