Pushing too hard

A few days ago, I came upon this article. It asks whether pushing someone to do something, particularly to lose weight, can have opposite effects from those intended.

It's a touchy line when it comes to motivation and weight loss. Motivation can be great to jump start your weight loss. But with someone always telling you how you need to lose weight, you may begin to feel bad about yourself.

This article takes it one step further and explores what happens when your other half takes the motivation too far and it begins to hurt your feelings.

I know that I, personally, am pretty lucky whereas my other half pushes me when I'm motivated on my own, and doesn't push me when I'm not. He never once says I need to lose weight and when I say I need to lose weight, he simply says, "If you feel that you need to do that, then do it."

I will say that he is totally turned off when I eat a mouthful of french fries, which is motivation enough not to eat them :)

Motivation doesn't need to come from a person. It can come from a book, a movie, your favorite actor.

Where do YOU get your motivation? And what would you do if someone was pushing you too hard?
