The weekend can be the toughest time for your weight loss goals. Aside from the chaos of not knowing where you will be and what you will be doing, it can be harder to to plan out your meals.
But if you make a strong enough effort, you can plan out healthy meals and stick to the plan.
Try writing on a sheet of paper Friday, Saturday and Sunday (and in the case of Labor Day weekend, Monday). Break them up into breakfast, lunch and dinner, allowing for two snacks throughout the day-one between breakfast and lunch and the other between lunch and dinner.
Write out your meals for each category--and be sure to make them healthy! You wouldn't want to defeat the purpose would you? If you think you are going to be out of the house, plan for what meals you will have out. For instance, if you are going to a very busy area during the day and you know there will be tons of chain restaurants, plan to have Subway, and look online at the lower-calorie options. Many restaurants have their menus and calories posted online.
Now take this piece of paper and stick it in a place that you will be seeing it a lot over the weekend. If you are going to be home a lot, maybe post this paper on your fridge. If not, keep it in your purse. But remember to consult your list every time before you are about to eat!
Now, this plan is not fool-proof. There might be a time where you just can't get to something on your list. But as long as you're making an effort to follow it, you're making an effort to stay committed to your health/weight loss goals even over the weekend.
