Biggest Loser Recap: Episode 2

In my opinion, last night’s episode was not as thrilling as last week’s. But that might be because last week’s was the first week, hence ultimate excitement.

I was pretty excited about their challenge, however. Losing 150 lbs. between them was quite a feat and (SPOILER ALERT) I was glad to see that at the end they had done it.

I’m glad that we’re starting to see a littttttttle bit of drama start to heat up. I don’t know about you, but my favorite thing about watching some of these reality shows is the drama that ensues. It seems like Shay has a little bit of a grudge against Julio-maybe Alexandra (was that her name?) became close with Shay and she was mad that she got sent home? The show did frame it that Julio was being lazy when everyone else was working out at the gym during that one scene, although he said he had fewer calories to burn than the rest of them, so maybe it was more even than they want us to believe? In the end Julio lost a great deal of weight.

This week marked the return of Tracey. I was glad to see she was doing well, and really proud of her for losing 10 lbs., despite being unable to work out in the gym. BUT, technically this was Week 1 for her, which brings me to my next point.

I haven’t really watched this show before this season and I don’t really understand the Week 2 curse, as it is explained. I’m wondering why it is so hard for the contestants to lose as much weight in Week 2 as they did in Week 1. I felt bad for the contestants who were expecting higher results on the scale, but does everything typically even out by Week 3?

Predictions: I think maybe Julio will be the one to go next week. Everyone’s accusing him of slacking off, and though I’m not sure if we’ve seen it in this week’s episode, maybe we will see more next week.
