So, I’m starting my own boot camp! And the best thing about it is that it is FREE!
Ideally, I would be up for joining a weight loss boot camp-I could certainly use the motivation. But the boot camps around me all seem to be hundreds of bucks. And knowing that I technically could lose the weight on my own for free makes me hesitant to throw out the cash for something I could do without spending it (especially when times are tough).
SO, here is my free boot camp idea, and I would love it if any of you would participate in my boot camp and we can virtually log our progress TOGETHER!
WHEN IS BOOT CAMP!?
Boot camp will be 5 days per week (weekdays) for one week every other week of the month. Why? You will see when you finish reading description of boot camp.
THE WORKOUT:
While we should be working out at least 5 days per week, for some of us, that is even a challenge. WELL, I’m going to KICK IT UP A NOTCH. During these 5 weekdays, you must work out (as in cardio) for 40 MINUTES in the morning AND 40 MINUTES at night.
Now, I realize these times may be difficult for some people, depending on their work schedules. So here is a MODIFICATION:
You can, if you must, not adhere to the one morning session and one evening session, but if you do not, you must complete ONE HOUR AND 20 MINUTES of cardio per day in whatever capacity you can. I know, I know, this is a lot. But HEY, IT’S BOOT CAMP!
Also, I originally wanted to do an hour in the morning and an hour at night, but my friend advised me that might be pushing it, so as time goes on, the time amounts might change. BE PREPARED! RAWR!
WHAT KIND OF CARDIO DO YOU DO IN BOOT CAMP?
Whatever kind you would like. You can do 40 minutes on the treadmill, 20 on the treadmill and 20 on the elliptical, 15 on the stepper and 25 on the bike. It doesn’t matter as long as you are DOING IT.
One thing I would like to note: If you would like to take a cardio class-for example a 45 minute spin class-then you should not be discouraged by the fact that it’s longer than you have to workout? DO IT and feel good that you went above and beyond.
WHAT CAN I EAT DURING BOOT CAMP?
That’s not up to me to decide. I can only suggest how you workout mildly, but I can’t hold your hand while you eat. It is my suggestion that you eat as healthy as you can, so as not to waste the many hours you will be putting in at the gym this week.
ALSO, one friend suggested we all keep a log of our consumed calories this week, so that we can really see what we’re eating in comparison to the extra calories we’re burning.
WHAT DO I DO WHEN IT’S NOT BOOT CAMP WEEK?
Whatever you want! I mean, I would recommend continuing to work out, but the idea of boot camp week is to be rough and tough and make you push yourself and if you do continue to work out in between, you should see the results you’re looking for.
So there you have it. FREE BOOT CAMP. I started my boot camp week this morning-when will you start yours? ;)
