Guest Blogger: Biggest Loser Recap Episode 5

My fiance is a man who's not ashamed to say he's into the Biggest Loser. He's so not ashamed, that he has decided to come on my blog as a guest blogger this week to talk about last night's episode. I hope you welcome him with open arms. Here is his demographic, so you know where his opinions are coming from:

Jonathan Sheehan, 24 year old male, starting to eat much healthier than he used to (I'm proud to say), but doesn't exercise much, other than going on long walks with our dog. Still, he has a mind for purchasing healthy food at the best cost possible. Here are his thoughts on last night's episode:

"Hi everybody

So I started watching about 20 minutes into the show.   Apparently they divided the remaining “losies” into two teams per Tracey’s instructions.  Liz, is all about beating Tracey this week, who is on her team, because the stipulation is that whichever team has a smaller weight loss percentage has to get rid of one player, and the team will vote on who leaves.

On the Blue team, which is coached by Bob, Liz is all fired up in the gym, but collapses on the treadmill-scary stuff.  She seems to be ok though.

On the Black team, coached by Jillian, one of the girls is having a tough time doing the “jump on the box” exercise.  Jillian gets really angry and makes silly faces.

During the commercial break, I think of things I want to try and jump over.

The challenge this week is that each team of 5 people must carry one of their members through an obstacle course consisting of a long, steep hill, and two mud pits.  One member on each team sits out completely.

The blue team, consisting of Allen, Coach Mo, Rudy(?), Liz, and Rebecca get off to a quick start.  The black team (Amanda, Shay, Daniel, Danny, and box jumper girl) lag behind for most of the race, almost catch up before Blue goes through the mud pit, but never really gain momentum.

Blue Team wins and their prize is that they get to watch videos from home.  Rebecca offers box jumper girl the chance to watch her tape, but she declines.

Everyone on the blue team watches their videos from home, including Tracey (even though she’s the most evil person in the world apparently. It’s ridiculous how they make her look like the bad guy when she’s supposed to be inspiring people.)

Liz invites Danny, her now former teammate, to watch her video with her.  She surprises him because it’s actually his video from home….nice.

At the last chance workout the Blue Team doesn’t seem to be that concerned, but Jillian keeps going crazy on the Black team.

The Blue team weighs in first, and the least amount lost is 6 pounds by Coach Mo.  Everyone pretty much loses at least seven pounds for the Blue Team after that.

Then the Black team goes and it comes down to where Shay had to lose about 14(ish) pounds to get the win for her team.  I forget how much she actually loses but it’s a lot more than she had to.

So now the Blue team has to get rid of someone.  The six team members get together and it basically comes down to Tracey and Coach Mo pleading their case.  Tracey says that she loses consistently every week (which is true), and Coach Mo more or less says it would be alright to vote him off because it would only be fair.

They go to the vote and Coach Mo gets the first 4 votes (one of them from Liz), so he gets kicked off.  I feel sad, then watch the “after” video of him and it makes me not sad.  He’s lost about 76 pounds since first coming on to the show till the update.

It looks like next week everyone gets to go home, and when they come back it appears they gained weight.  Dun-Dun-DUN!!"

What are YOUR thoughts on last night's episode?

Bootcamp Results?

So last week, I posted an idea I had for a free bootcamp which included one week, every other week, of two 40-minute workouts per day.

I did awesome during bootcamp week until the second workout on Wednesday, when I started really feeling sick.

I know, a lot of times people make excuses for why they don't finish something they start-but I'm NOT doing that right now-I PROMISE!

I have a sinus infection to prove it!

So, I basically haven't been to the gym since Wednesday-and instead have eaten a whole lotta naughtiness. The one thing I did notice when I did go to the gym morning and night those few days is how good it feels to work out.

You feel it in your muscles and your legs and your arms and your brain-you feel a little more alert when you workout in the morning. You just feel good all around, and I can't wait until I feel better and can start going to the gym in the morning all the time, because I can totally see myself getting into it.

Anyways, I was wondering if any of you took part in my little bootcamp idea and what you guys thought?

P.S. make sure to tune into the Biggest Loser tonight on NBC at 8 p.m. eastern!
