Phew, these two hour episodes wear me out. Don’t get me wrong, I love the show, but don’t you think they could be cut down to not be two hours?
Anyways, let me start with my SPOILER ALERT: If you read to the end of this post, you will know who went home on last night’s episode.
So, I personally was not so impressed with that challenge. Come on, digging through sand. Yes, I’m sure it’s difficult, but these are people, not dogs. I think the producers could have come up with something a little better.
I did like the idea of the Blue team being able to decide whether they or the Black team went home. Interesting twist-though I’m starting to think the show is getting much more competition-y and less about the weight. I know, I know, it’s always about the weight, but for instance, Tracey is getting increasingly more competitive and I feel like it should be more about encouraging each other than wanting to see them fail if they go home. So that was my rant about that.
It was nice that the Black team got to go home, even though they were scared they would gain more. I did shed a few tears when Danny got to see his family, though he does cry a lot and it is desensitizing me in general to his story a little.
The person who didn’t phase me much at all this episode or in the entire show so far was Dina. BUT I didn’t want her to go home. For me, Dina just doesn’t make me like her or not like her. She doesn’t seem extremely encouraging to any of the contestants, but she’s also not mean to them.
But when it came time to vote one of them off, I did think Daniel should have gone. I know he is more encouraging for those on the ranch, but he’s already been there an entire season and I believe he has the tools he needs to succeed at home. Something that bothers me a little is that they all talk like they’re not going to make it at home-well NEWSFLASH, you’re going to have to go home at some point.
Daniel was up 1 lb. last night which means there’s obviously something going on with him, and I think he could have maybe overcome that at home, but I guess the contestants didn’t agree with me when they sent Dina home.
I want to add I was entirely impressed with Danny’s 15 lb. weight loss when he was home, and in fact, all of the Black team. I felt bad that the Blue team thought they would be ahead by staying at the ranch, but I think the team that went home knew it was going to be tough and worked a little harder. Or does this mean Jillian’s a better trainer than Bob?
What do you think?
