Hope is not lost if you are a middle-aged woman and are hoping to lose weight.
Sure, you may be thinking it would be easier if you were younger and had more energy/time to work on losing weight.
But new evidence suggests it is still possible for you to drop your extra baggage at the door.
Research was presented at the annual Obesity Society meeting that suggests that if a middle-aged woman is committed, she can lose the weight.
Three main tips were provided in the research:
1.) Write down you eat
2.) Prepare your foods at home instead of eating out
and
3.) Make weight loss a priority.
These are three things you can do if you're hoping to lose weight at any age.
Based on these three things, the results were as follows, according to the article linked below.
"The researchers recruited 439 overweight or obese postmenopausal women, average age 57, average weight 185, all of them sedentary. They were assigned to one of four groups: diet only, exercise only, diet and exercise, or no lifestyle changes.
After a year, the diet-and-exercise group had lost about 21 pounds; the diet-only group 18 pounds; and the exercise-only group almost 5 pounds. The control group did not lose a significant amount."
What do YOU think? Is losing weight easier when you're younger?
