Biggest Loser Recap: Episode 9

BIG SPOILER ALERT: Two people went home last night, and those people were kind of shocking, so if you didn’t see last night’s episode, don’t read ahead (yet, I mean, definitely read it later ;) )

Wowie, last night was crazy.

I have to say, I have a bias because some reliable insiders have told me two of the individuals who make it to the top three in the finale…so let’s just say I knew who wasn’t going home last night.

But I was still shocked at who did!

The first challenge, in my mind, was boring, so I don’t want to bother talking about it that much. But the second challenge, with the circus rings was pretty intense.

What I found amusing was the tactics of the players. While Rudy and Danny got in a steady flow of stepping through the rings, I could not, for the life of me, understand why Shay insisted on throwing her body, face first, through the ring every time.

This obviously resulted in pain for her and pain for me as a viewer imagining how much it must hurt every time to land face first. Weird.

I find that this is when the show starts to get really good in the season: they’ve all proven that they have the ability to lose weight, but now the competition comes down to their ability to compete. I find that Amanda is doing a great job at this because she is forming silent alliances and everyone likes her. It’s also interesting because no one finds her as a threat since she is getting some of the lowest numbers, which is probably why they keep her around.

Rudy might have sent Amanda home last night if he didn’t have that tiff with Shay-which I hate to say it, but Shay was totally right. What Rudy did promising Shay an alliance and then turning on her was not very nice-BUT-it is a competition, and this late in the game, the contestants shouldn’t trust ANYONE.

Rudy is still my favorite guy on the show.

I was so happy for Shay when I saw that she lost 17 lbs. Finally, she’s seeing some big numbers. But as she started to fall below that yellow line, she knew what was coming.

I had a feeling Daniel was going to be sent home-he just hasn’t been pulling in the same kinds of numbers as everyone else.

But I can truly say I was surprised that all the other players voted off Shay.

Other than that, I wish I stayed awake to see what Shay looked like on Leno! Did you guys see?

What did YOU think of last night’s episode?
