I believe there could be some (a little but some) truth to what the lady in the Taco Bell drive-hru diet commercials is saying. She probably did lose some weight by not eating all the other fast food she was eating before and instead eating off the Fresco menu at Taco Bell.
That is, if she was chomping down Whoppers and Big Macs every meal.
To me, her schpiel doesn't even make sense! "When I switched to the drive-thru menu instead of eating the other fast food I was eating...."
How much fast food were you eating woman!? Obviously the underlying argument is that when she started eating healthier, she lost some weight. But I'm picturing her living off of fast food now and then.
Anyway, regardless of what I think, I also find it fascinating that Taco Bell is attempting to enter the health market. Well, maybe not that fascinating since McDonald' has been working at it for a few years (and somewhat sucessfully I might add with their fruit and nut and salad options).
While I don't believe that the new Taco Bell diet spokeswoman, Christine Dougherty, lost 54 pounds by including Fresco items (and at one point in the article, the author questions its effectivness), in case you were wondering the back story, in case you were wondering:

What do YOU think? Can you lose weight by eating Taco Bell 5-8 times per week?
