SPOILER ALERT: If you read to the end, you will know who went home on this episode.
First a spoiler alert, now a confession. If you've been reading my blog the past few days, you know I've been feeling under the weather :( I'm told it's a 5-day head cold and I'm on day 4 now, so *crosses fingers* looks like it's the end.
Last night, however, I could barely keep my eyes open long enough to watch the Biggest Loser-which is a true shame for two reasons 1.) I enjoy watching the show and 2.) I like to blog about it the next day.
I did however catch the end. So, I'm going to just blog about the weigh-ins and end of the show, and give you guys a link to a blog post about the whole episode (which I think is only fair) so that those of you who want the real deal can see what you missed. Again, I am very sorry to all you devoted BL Recap fans!!!
Here we go:
I saw that Miggy and Migdalia did very well this week. Miggy is still my favorite because of her vibrant personality and passion to lose the weight (in my opinion). So I was pretty proud of them.
I have to say that this week I was a little happier with the numbers the contestants were losing. You might be thinking "What the heck!?! Why? They lost less weight."
No people-- they lost REALISTIC weight. My fiance and I are still up in arms because we don't believe the numbers they lost on the first episode are real (Stay posted for a future blog entry I plan to write after I send an e-mail to NBC inquiring about this). I'm sorry, but I find it highly unbelievable that a person, even though they all started out extremely overweight, could lose over 30 lbs. in a week.
This past week I have been sticking to my own diet and with only a few cheats lost 4 proud lbs. This was without going to the gym. But I know how hard it is to lose weight, and I know how hard these contestants work to lose the weight. But 30 lbs. just does not seem like a real number for one week's weight loss-so if anyone has an explanation for this, please post it on my profile.
I digress, so I was dozing in and out during most of the weigh ins, but did catch the purple team's. Patti did not lose the 10 lbs needed to keep her team above the yellow line. So, all the contestants had to choose which Purple Team member to vote off.
I was pretty sure Patti was going at this point-her daughter (don't even know her name) seemed a little more motivated to me, and there is always this constant conflict on the show of whether to send an older contestant or a younger one, and in general, I feel like they typically send the older ones.
After Patti went home, I thought she looked pretty good. Not amazing, but good. She still has a long way to go. We did the math, and in the first week, the show weighed her in as losing 27 lbs. (again, I don't believe this). So, if she lost 27 lbs. the first week and 4 the next week, she lost less than 15 lbs. at home!?!? Hmm.
Here is the link I promised you for a full update on last night's Biggest Loser

SIDENOTE: There is a serious conflict going on for those of us who watch AMERICAN IDOL and THE BIGGEST LOSER! Same night, same time! These 2-hour shows are KILLING ME! But I'm still undecided on which to watch. For now, I'm sticking with the BL. What do you guys think? How have you made the choice?
