Can you lose weight without doing cardio?

Every morning when I'm at the gym, and I look up at the treadmills and ellipticals I think, "Ughhhhhh I want no part of that."

But I tell myself that if I don't do it, I'm not going to lose the weight.

Then I see those people who come to the gym, every single day, don't do a MINUTE of cardio, but look great! So what is their secret?

Can you lose weight without doing any cardio? Apparently you can, but in a different way.

When you lift weights, you gain muscle, and the muscle takes the place of your fat.

I've always been told that when you want to drop serious pounds, cardio is key. But if you want to tone and strengthen your body, weights are a better option.

This article talks about some of the differences between doing cardio and lifting weights. In some instances, one method is preferable, depending on what you're going for:

I think that you can lose weight while just doing weights. But it's key for you to do cardio for your body to be able to tome while you are doing the weights. Your body will burn more calories which in turns burns the fat.
I hate doing weights, half of the machines I don't know how to use and the independent weights, I don't know what exercised to do with them. But I always start with walking on the treadmill for at least 20-30 minutes, then do the machines I know for about 20 minutes.
