Biggest Loser Recap: Season 9 Episode 6

Ya know, I'm really starting to look forward to Tuesday nights. I love watching the Biggest Loser, and coming on Buddy and seeing how many other people are into the show like me.

I'm thinking about maybe starting a chat about the Biggest Loser while the show is airing so we can all talk about things as they happen-would anyone be interested in that?

Anyway, here is this week's Biggest Loser recap!

SPOILER ALERT: If you read to the end of this post, you will know who went home last night...well, sort of.

This week was unlike other weeks when two people are sent home because the producers decided to throw a cliffhanger in the place of showing us who got voted off.

But let's back up a little bit. This week, the contestants visited the Olympic training site in Colorado (I think?). It was kind of cool because all of their workouts were with Olympians and they got to train the way they did.

Their first challenge involved one of those slide boards that were pretty popular in the 90's (actually, I have no idea if they were popular, I was pretty young. I know my mom had one and I loved playing on it). Competition was fierce as Melissa was on the brink of passing out before she lost to Sam, who earned a Gold Medal (it's Olympic themed-get it?) award for winning. Melissa got a Silver Medal while Sunshine received Bronze, making her father, Oneal, extreeeeemely happy.

I don't really understand the purpose of the next challenge. I know they had to run in circles and then shoot at targets, each player with four or five targets associated with their name. The last player to have an un-shot target won. It came down to Darrell and Oneal, and I have to say, it was pretty inspirational watching them both give it their all, determined to win the challenge. Oneal won that one by a hair, and once again, he was extreeeeemely happy, as he should be. The man and his daughter fought like crazy just to get back on the show after all! Oneal also won immunity from being eliminated during the weigh in.

Koli was having some weird issues this whole episode. I guess he misses John (who he said was his "family") but he has been letting his feelings that John deserved to be there more than him interfere with his workout, and I'm hoping he gets over that because he is one of my favorite players.

My absolute favorite player, Miggy, broke 200 last night and was oh-so-proud of herself. She looks great, and I'm glad to see she's doing so well.

Michael did not break Rudy's record of losing 100 lbs. in under 7 weeks, but he could meet his record, and then some next week. He only has a few more to lose.

The real drama in the weigh in was due to the fact that in this episode, there was a red line. Whenever there's a red line, you know there's going to be drama. A red line means whoever falls below it is automatically eliminated without any voting or decision making.

Seemingly ironic, the red team fell below the red line when Melissa gained 1 lb. this week. I don't know what is up with her and why she is consistently not losing half as much weight as the others, but as a result of this week's gain, Melissa was sent home.

I have to admit, I didn't care much for Melissa. In fact, I liken her to this season's Tracey (who, at times, acted a little crazy). But her goodbye was very emotional and I was a little sad for her. She did admit that she isn't big enough to pull the kind of numbers the others do, and pleaded that her husband stay and give it his all because she is deeply worried for his health.

They showed Melissa's now-photo and she looks great! She trimmed down to 175 lbs. and she looks absolutely awesome!

The cliffhanger was that both Cheryl and Darrell fell below the yellow line-one of them ultimately going home. Only this week, the other contestants were not able to vote for which one went home. Instead, there was an elimination challenge!

Both had to squat with an artificial Olympic torch balancing on their heads. Whomever's torch tipped over and blew out first would lose and be sent home.

Buttttttttt, we don't know who that is yet, because the show wanted to keep us waiting. "To be continued...."
