What Would You Say to You?

On tonight's Biggest Loser, the contestants are forced to sit down and watch a video of themselves telling their future, thinner selves what life was like in their former life. Watching this video is meant to serve as an inspiration to push the contestants through their final two weeks of competition and on the ranch.

As I'm watching the tearful eyed contestants face themselves in video, paying close attention to their own messages, I wondered what I would say to my future, thinner self.

I don't think I'd record a video for myself, but I might write myself a letter. Here is what I would say:

Hey stranger!

It's been a while ;) And let me just say, you look GREAT. You did it! You knew you could, and you did! You lost those 25 lbs. and got your body back to exactly where it was two years ago.

Don't you feel great? Now what are you going to do to keep it up? How are you going to make sure it doesn't creep back up. You need to have a plan and you need to make it happen.

Anyway, I'm proud of you. You put your mind to it and made it happen. Great job!

Ariana

Okay, my letter may be a little cheesy, but when I do get there, I'm going to be full of positive, cheesy thoughts.

What would YOU write in a letter to yourself?

Quick and Painless?

Losing weight is one of those things you usually have to be patient with.

Sorry, not usually, always. You can start changing your eating habits and start exercising tomorrow and you're not going to notice a difference in your weight in one day.

We're told that it takes time to see the results we're looking for. But new findings suggest that the quicker we lose the weight, the higher our chances of keeping it off.

The study separated men and women into three groups based on how much weight their lost in the first month of their weight loss: fast, moderate and slow.

What researchers found was that those who lose weight the fastest overall lost the most weight, maintained their weight loss for longer and were less likely to put the weight back on.

This may be all fine and dandy, but what the surveyors don't seem to understand is that we all want to lose weight quicker.

What do YOU think? Is it easier to maintain weight loss when you lose the weight quicker?
