Your Bag of Tricks

In my purse, I keep a little bag of "tricks" for "tricky" situations. What's in there? Floss, Q-tips, mints, Vaseline, band-aids, hand lotion, bobby pins and more.

There are very few situations when I actually need a few of these items, mainly the Q-tips, but either way, I think it's very important to have these things with me at all times.

As I was thinking about this bag of tricks, it got me thinking: what could I put in my "weight loss bag of tricks" if I had one?

Here's what I came up with:

1.) Pedometer-It's a great idea to know how many calories you're burning throughout the day if you have the opportunity to.

2.) Pack of Gum-If you're anything like me, you're hungry all the time. But even after I eat sometimes and I'm clearly not hungry, my body tells itself I am. In situations like these, I think it's a good idea to have a pack of gum around to chew and trick your body back into thinking you're satisfied.

3.) iPod-This is a given. Without music, working out is so much more boring.

4.) Towel-Drying off your sweat will make you feel cooler and dryer as you push through during your workout.

5.) Granola bar-When I'm too hungry, I don't get a good workout. When I'm too full, I don't get a good workout. So what is the best solution? A little tiny snack. I find that a granola bar does the perfect job of curbing my hunger so I can make the most of my workout.

What would YOU have in your bag of tricks?
