My boss recently approached me to show me his new ticket to weight loss: an app on his iPhone.
The app, appropriately called "Lose it" allows you to keep a log of your full calorie intake for days at a time while also telling you how many calories you should be consuming and burning each day. You can set goals for how much you want to lose in the app also.
There is also a place in the app where you enter your exercise for that day. What is most interesting about the app is that it finds the non-conventional foods and exercises for you to enter.
Let's face it. We're not always going to eat non-brand fruits and vegetables and that's it. Sometimes we want to eat a FiberOne, or a Dunkin Donuts flatbread sandwich. The app actually knows the brand names and how many calories are in each.
For exercise, you may go for a hike instead of going to the gym. Or maybe you walked to the grocery store and back. The app can calculate how many calories you likely burned in these activities.
If you do not have an iPhone, you will not be able to download the actual "Lose It" app. However, if you do have a BlackBerry and do a quick search for "Lose It app for Blackberry" you can find some suggestions for alternatives.
Do any of YOU use the Lose It app? Has it helped you lose any weight so far?
