Your Weight Loss Hero

Superman and Batman are usually the two that first come to mind when you think of "hero."

They're the kind of hero that saves the pretty girl from the bad guy when she's hanging off the side of a building about to fall to her death.

As I thought about heroes and how much we grow up admiring them, I thought about who my weight loss hero is. Who, in the realm of weight loss is someone I look to for inspiration? Someone who achieved unbelievable feats and truly saved a life (their own)?

I would have to say that my weight loss hero would most likely be someone in the public eye. I don't personally know someone who has conquered weight loss in a major and heroic way.

Still, I don't think a full-on celebrity, like maybe Kirstie Alley or Valerie Bertinelli, would be my weight loss hero because they are getting paid a great deal of money to lose weight and maintain by Jenny Craig.

I do look up to Ruby a lot, and think it's pretty amazing that a woman who used to be so overweight she could not operate a car is now down more than 300 lbs.

All of the Biggest Losers are inspirational, though I'm not sure what they do is "heroic" since they have all day everyday to work on losing the weight.

Maybe "hero" is not the right word to describe someone who loses a great deal of weight. Or maybe I just haven't found my weight loss hero yet.

Maybe it will be myself?

Who is your weight loss hero?
