'Real Housewives' Star Says She Lost 20 lbs. Eating Pasta

If there's two things I love blogging about, they are weight loss and reality television.

I really, really love talking about reality television because it's just so entertaining. One show I love, but unfortunately haven't seen a whole lot of lately since I switched to basic cable is the Real Housewives of ### series on Bravo. One of my favorites is the Real Housewives of NJ (mostly because I'm from NJ).

I'm sure some of you guys also watch this show and have been keeping up with the news of Caroline Manzo's weight loss photos and news.

In Season 1 of the NJ Housewives, Manzo was often seen in her basement working out by doing kickboxing with her daughter. Now, she's up to working out 45 minutes-an hourĀ a day, according to CBS News, and the 48-year-old says she's lost over 20 lbs. the good, old fashioned way.

According to this article, Manzo, who carried most of her weight in her breast and abdomen article, has not only lost a nice amount of weight, but has also help prevent certain health risks associated with carrying the weight in those spots.

What do YOU think of Caroline Manzo's weight loss?

Also, I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy, and HEALTHY 4th of July holiday weekend. Does anyone have any special plans they want to share?

FDA Issues Warning Against Alli Causing Liver Damage

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning against two weight loss drugs for their damage on the liver. The drugs, Xenical and Alli, are available to consumers over the counter.

According to the FDA, these drugs can cause severe liver damage, and if you are taking them, you should consult a doctor if you are taking them, and also watch for signs of liver damage, including yellow eyes, dark urine or loss of appetite.

This article, says that Alli also causes loss of bowel control.

I've never taken any weight loss supplement like this before, but I have seen Alli in the grocery store and been curious about it before. If these side effects and the FDA warning are true, I'm thinking it's probably not worth it to take them.

Have any of you take these and had success?
