Is it easier to lose weight in the summer?

I was at the gym today, sweating up a storm on the elliptical. The harder I worked, the more I sweat and the more I sweat the harder I worked.

I have blogged before about articles that say that the amount of sweat you produce when working out has little to no correlation to how many calories you will burn. But I still have my doubts about that.

Moreso than how many more or less calories I was burning because I was sweating more, I became curious about whether it is easier to lose weight in the summer versus other seasons.

What do you think? Easier or harder?

If you guessed easier you are correct. It is easier to lose weight in the summer because your body has to work harder to prevent you from overheating, causing you to burn more calories.

In warmer weather and under extreme workout conditions, your heart has to work harder to pump the blood.

The difference is not tremendous-if you work hard in warm weather or cold weather, you are bound to burn calories. But if you're like me, and feel like working out just seems a little bit easier in the summer, you could be right.
