I did well all day and then came dinner time. Argh. I had 2 cookies when I came home (2=90 calories) so that wasn't too bad...dinner was precooked from the local store. Finished it off with a cup of tea and a piece of chocolate chip pound cake. I think I'm going to go to bed early. Maybe a cup of sleepy time tea and one of the zillion books I have laying around that I keep promising myself I'll get to. I only managed 4 glasses of water today, which is terrible. I did my morning yoga which is a practice I've been working on building but I didn't get in enough walking. How did everyone else do today?

Greetings. I am a new member working through trying to stay motivated and commit to a healthier way of eating. I have never been fond of vegetables and now it’s catching up to me. 56 yrs old, 5’3” and 220lbs. Trying to convince myself it’s not too late to improve.

Hi i am a new member . i am 5,9 and weigh 380 I am 55 and in pore health because of my weight . i am a diabetic and high blood presser and my sugar has cause my feet hard to walk any tips you have are welcome . i hope this is going to be a great help to get my fit and loss weight hanks for any help you can give me

Last week my friend came to stay for 5 days. It's been a long time since we've been in the same state no less the same house. Here were some interesting results within the first few days she dropped lbs and I was struggling to stay the same. While we were eating healthy, the portion sizes she had counted more...and while I was eating healthy the frequency we ate was more than I usually do. She is accustomed to 3 meals and 3 snacks. I eat 3 meals and 1 -2 snacks in the evening.

Hiya everyone I'm 63 although in my head I'm still in my 30s lol. Really looking for some friends to help me gets this weight off and please feel free to yell at me and tell me to off my ass and exercise lol. I'm a vegetarian so it's hard to find a diet that fits me. I was down to 130 lbs with Dr Bernstien and had kept it off for a few years until I quit smoking and gained it all back and then some. Plus everyone though I was too skinny geez you can't win. I don't want to lose that much but still need to lose weight and this time I need to exercise which I find is such a pain to do. I'm looking for a buddy as well so please get a hold of me. Thanks Vicki

Oh DonCol - I wish I had your struggles. I'm just stuck in this endless loop that I'm determined to break. I went over to the gym yesterday and spoke to one of the trainers. He gave me a starting point...now it's just up to me. So far I'm just going to walk and then add work outs either yoga or weights 2x a week. It's time to retire my treadmill...it's been with me for over 10 yrs and it's either replace the motor or get a new one. I think I'll stick with the gym for awhile since my husband and I can't agree on where to put the treadmill. I like water and yet I am struggling with it. I'm not giving up...my plan is to have at least 1 glass of water with each meal. 1 when I wake up and I'll have to fit in 4 more. LOL Ok. So it's a plan in progress. Do you find since you are so regular with your exercise that your diet has plenty of wiggle room or are you careful with your food intake?

CherylKay I wish I read this exercise advice a month ago! I've never done yoga before but really want to try and found some great videos on Youtube. I'm going to alternate that with a weight regimen. Thanks for the great tip!

If you go 4 days a week you could alternate yoga and weights. As you know, your metabolism stays elevated for longer after weights than cardio which means more calories burned in the long run. Plus, weight lifting is better for building muscle and more muscle you have more calories you burn. Not to rule out stretching either because stretching increases your blood flow and circulation for a healthier body and sends oxygen to your brain, not to mention helps keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints.

Mona, it wouldn't open for me - I did look! And thanks for asking about me - I've treadmilled all winter! My racing starts soon! My struggle is having a NON-exercise day and NOT eating like an exercise day! Mona, WATER is my ONLY go to throughout the day! My hubby can't stand H2O ;-) Have a great weekend - it's now 3/24/18 ..... lol
