I'm making a special dinner for my brother and I couldn't decide what to do for desert. I happened to pick up a bag of apples the other day so I think I'm going to slice up a few apples, sautee them in a little butter slowly ... sprinkle with cinnamon and a little nutmeg...then serve with a scoop of ice cream...or maybe just whipped cream if someone prefers. A take on apple pie with no added sugar and no crust. :) I'll let you know how it turns out.

It was really good. I did end up adding about 1 tsp of sugar to 4 apples. These specific apples were a little tart. I really enjoyed it. I'd say I got about 6 servings from the 4 apples.

I've tried coconut milk whipped cream that was already made and I thought it was delicious. :)

I've been thinking of trying that myself. I love pie but definitely not a calorie friendly dessert. How'd it come out? I once found a recipe for whipped cream using coconut milk that might go nicely with that.

Hi All, newbie here too. I lost 50 lbs in the past2 years but am putting 30 back on. My doctor gave me an Rx for Belviq and it was great! No cravings and worked great didn’t think about food at all. Bad part it costs $100.00 a month. I refuse to give the money to big pharma! I weigh 212.2 this AM. My highest was 237 & my lowest 174. My goal is 150. I am going to Hawaii April 2019 with my thin BFF and I don’t want to be the “fat” friend!!! Help me!! Thanks??

Hi everyone. I am 57 and have gained 30 pounds since menopause. I have very low motivation but I need to do something since it’s starting to affect my health and I don’t want to go up one more size and clothing either. I’m looking for some support. This group looks like a great place to start.

As I was browsing through amazon I came across this book...it looked pretty interesting but won't be released until October. I do think we have different nutritional needs. Clearly we digest our food differently it just makes sense.

Can't help but wonder how many people have a reasonable assessment of where they are today in terms of overall physical condition. For instance, as you get older, it is harder to maintain certain physical fitness levels, and even certain abilities to the level we had say in our 20-30's. As far as weight, I think people, on average, are heavier today than in decades past. Doesn't mean we have to accept the new normal, but does mean we aren't necessarily the fat person in the room :-) . I guess my key point is don't be too hard on yourself ; just get started. Also, be reasonable as to what you are trying to achieve and realize we didn't build "us" in a day so don't get discouraged or negative too soon.

Yep...I love your perspective. I wish I had more time...I decided working on strength..whether it's pilates, yoga or lifting light weights is the way to go for me at this time. I think working on gaining muscle and flexibility is more important than ever.

Hey everyone. I firmly believe we can stay fit throughout "middle age " lol....but it is more of a challenge for sure. I've always , sort of, worked out and stayed active, and always thought how great it would be to have "all day" to go to gym etc. Well, I've had that for awhile now, and am starting phase 2 of fitness / weight loss effort. I look forward to sharing ideas, pains, support, and general chatter with everyone.
