I just signed up tonight. Im surprised there aren't more people on here! Im trying to lose 20 lbs, 10 of which creeped on over the past 9 months after we moved. I'm using my old weight watchers points plus system. I go to the gym with my husband 3x/wk for cardio, but I hurt my back 2 weeks ago, so I haven't been able to go. Today was my first day back to work!

Hi Rachel...we have more people joining us each day...:) It sounds like you have a good solid plan to lose those lbs with. I'm sorry to hear about your back. Just be sure to not over do.

I recently joined a gym and I'm trying to get over there to speak with the trainer who said he'd set me up with a personalized plan. It seems everything keeps getting in my.

I don't know about all of you but I feel like I'm finally getting back to myself. The holidays were busy! Today the last of the Christmas decorations were put back snuggly in their places. :) How are you all doing with getting back on track?

DonCol 1/6/2018 9:37:27 AM

1st week into the New Year and I've done my cardio stuff 4 out of 6 mornings now ~woot, woot I hope everyone has a good weekend!

DonCol1/8/2018 5:45:50 AM

Mona - I hate weights :-( I've worked in some push-ups but that's about it

tealady1/7/2018 8:47:36 PM

That's awesome. Have starting on any strength training?

Stitchlover 1/4/2018 8:26:05 PM

Hi I'm Twana I've been on diets most of my life. That's why I joined wlb. I need to lose a lot of weight mostly for health reasons.

tealady1/7/2018 8:47:58 PM

Hi Twana...glad to see you've found the team. :)

mcat11 1/3/2018 11:09:39 AM

I am doing a 5 pound jump start challenge on the message boards under challenges...its starts Monday with a start weight--and you weigh in every monday until you hit 5 pound loss. No fuss no muss. Just a place to log weekly until we hit 5 pounds.

TrishFit 1/1/2018 11:15:00 AM

Good Luck to us "older" folks as we enter a new year with new challenges. But we can do it!!!

TrishFit 12/29/2017 9:34:02 AM

Just joining the team. I am 62 and hoping to drop about 10 lbs (1 lb a week). Back in the old days, I was a fitness competitor - up till my mid 40s. Then life and injuries got in the way. Although I have never gained too much weight, I did lose alot of muscle and gained flab. My biggest obstacle right now is my binge eating at night. I easily consume 500+ calories of junk in one sitting. So for the next few weeks, I will be cutting that out and just having a cup of tea instead. Once I conquer that bad habit - I'll start with another! Hope to be able to motivate others here!! Nothing wrong with looking hot in our old age! :) Trish

I was able to give up sugar in hot tea about a month ago. I never thought I would be able to, but now it is just fine

mcat1112/30/2017 7:41:59 AM

I tried the artificial sweetener at first but I dont like it in coffee...i dont mind a touch of it in Ice Tea though.

TrishFit12/29/2017 11:49:40 AM

I use alot of artificial sweeteners. Which does not help with the sugar addiction. It might not have the calories, but if my body thinks it is sweet...than the cravings will never go away. So I'll be giving up both real and fake sugars. But not for a few weeks! Although I willl cut back on the artificial stuff.

mcat1112/29/2017 11:02:11 AM

You can totally do it! I quit sugar in my coffee which I actually thought was going to be impossible as i LOVE my coffee with table sugar--i thought i was going to have to just give up coffee...i actually did for few days then on a whim tried it with 1/2 and 1/2 and it was not great but tollerable--and now I am so used to it (been about 7 weeks) I cant imagine putting sugar in it..i think our taste buds adapt to things and our brain gets used to our habits and its HARD retraining the brain but taking one thing at a time can help..

Nbm 12/6/2017 5:07:42 AM

Hi Iam new ... first time in a blog ... group ... trying to loose my wt ... lack motivation ... I find lame excuses ... I think if Iam comited then I might loose my wt

tealady12/6/2017 6:42:12 PM

Hi Nbm - do you have any thoughts on how you're going to lose...follow a specific diet, or exercise plan?

Lately, I've been struggling to get in enough water. It's always so much easier in the summer.

tealady 12/4/2017 10:07:42 AM

Hi is overcast ( Florida? ) and a bit on the gloomy side which sort of fits into my day. It's noon and I'm still in my pj's. (Hanging head in shame). I think my to do list got too long and I checked out. On the upside (because there is always an up side). I have had fun reading and posting on weight loss buddy. I started a new topic on the message board where we can post some quotes and inspirational sayings...i hope you guys contribute. I am going to do some yoga and then take a leisurely hot shower! yay me. Put up laundry and make a quick store run, put some gas in the old car and come home in time to make a healthy dinner. Hope your day is going along just as well... Mona

Pilsung 12/2/2017 7:20:51 AM

Good Morning all! My name is Dave, and I just joined the group today. Sorry to hear there does not appear to be much activity in terms of postings. I was hoping to get involved with an "active" group. I work-out 2-4 times a week, strength training. I was doing kick-boxing at home, but my son is staying with me for a few more months, and space has been a problem. Hope to start cardio work again in a few months.

tealady12/2/2017 12:34:27 PM

Hi name is Mona and I'm around pretty much daily. I miss a few days here and there. I like kick boxing and used to do it from a biggest loser work out. Then I tried turbo jam which I guess is a little girlie but oh gosh what a great work out!...and I found it such a stress buster. Nothing like kicking and punching LOL I haven't done any kick boxing in a while...I've been focusing on yoga but maybe I'm misdirecting myself time.

How old is your son?
