I am needing a weight loss/get healthy re-boot. Only I have tried so many approaches I am not sure where to start again. I need to believe in myself and that I can truly change 53 years of habits for the better. Hoping to find a group to inspire each other. Thanks!

For me changing a little at a time works better. When I try to do this huge overhaul I tend to fizzle. Make new habits. :) You can do this!

Hi! I pretty new to WLB and I just discovered the Teams! I am 55. My first goals for myself are to be in complete control over my blood sugar numbers.

tealady11/5/2018 9:27:22 PM

I saw your posts on the trending wall...looks like you're doing great. :) Welcome to the team.

I keep hearing that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. I wonder if it's the same for people over 50. I really need to get back to my dumbbell challenge....I am just blah. Maybe not that Halloweens over...blah blah blah, blah (In my best dracula accent) LOL Ok that was my silly moment! ;)

lavenderblue 11/4/2018 5:44:02 AM

Ok I'm serious about losing wt but have to realize that if I eat 'candy bars' the wt will not come off that easily. I did more exercise yesterday and ate a 'veggie' salad & scrambled eggs for breakfast. I will eat lightly today also minus the candy bars and see if I can bk on track to 162. I will concentrate next week on losing the 'two pounds" & get down to 160 which was my goal wt for October.

tealady11/4/2018 9:45:43 AM

oh that's a great goal. I was hoping to be down a bit more this week myself but I didn't do well this week at all. :( Today I'll be drinking extra water also...we had chinese last night and that will help flush out the extra salt.

lavenderblue 11/3/2018 4:23:06 PM

Yes I met my goal on 10/29 but then on Nov. 2nd today I'm bk up to 164. Yesterday when I ate at McDon I should had only eaten 1 burger and 1 fries and no candy that nite but it tasted so good I wanted more. I luv fries (potatoes). Today I decided to make up for it by eating a veggie salad and ate only 2 baked potatoes and that was all for the day. Hoping I will see a wt loss tomorrow. Kathy

When I weight myself and the scale goes way down I have to be careful bec. I'm known to self-sabotage and think I can eat things like pizza & candy bars and then the scale goes way up again but this time I'm not going to let that happen like I did earlier in the week as I met my goal for the month of October and I'm definitely going to get down to even one pound less of 159 by the end of this month. Temptation is all around though every day but this time not going to give in. Will be sipping on tea, drinking a lot of water and when I get the munchies with stick with steamed veggies which are nutritionally good for me and not the junk food I've been eating like the Halloween candy bars.

tealady10/29/2018 4:49:20 AM

Yes! I tend to self sabotage also. It stinks and makes me feel terrible about myself. I hope you find a way around it.

katie324 10/26/2018 11:31:25 AM

Stepped on the scale today and was 5 pounds up. Guess all that eating on vacation caught up with me. So, back to counting points and going to hit the YMCA water aerobics starting Monday. Difficult not to be hard on myself. I know what to do, just not why I'm not doing it.

tealady10/29/2018 4:48:27 AM

I think part of the problem is that our to do lists are soooo long. :) Glad you enjoyed vacation.

Ghada 10/26/2018 10:54:28 AM

I don't know if you meant for 50+ as older than 50 which is my case
